ATR/BPN Accelerates KKPR Issuance to Govern Airport Ecosystems
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is supporting governance through the synchronisation of Spatial Plans with the national airport system, via the issuance of Spatial Utilisation Suitability Activities (KKPR).
“The integration of spatial data, land data, spatial planning data, geospatial information, and regional licensing data will make the decision-making process faster, more accurate, and integrated,” said Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN Ossy Dermawan in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Deputy Minister Ossy affirmed his support for strengthening the governance of the national airport ecosystem through land and spatial planning elements. He explained that ATR/BPN supports the realisation of better airport governance through the synchronisation of Spatial Plans with the national airport system. This also includes accelerating the issuance of KKPR to support investment and development, as well as land acquisition for public interest.
“As well as strengthening spatial planning control so that regional development remains in accordance with the established plan,” he said.
Deputy Minister Ossy assessed that airport governance also needs to be strengthened with cross-sector spatial data integration. This is conceptualised as a “one spatial planning policy” or a single spatial planning reference. “The integration of spatial data, land data, spatial planning data, geospatial information, and regional licensing data will make the decision-making process faster, more accurate, and integrated,” said Deputy Minister Ossy.
To discuss the airport sector, Deputy Minister Ossy attended a Ministerial-Level Coordination Meeting on Strengthening Airport Ecosystem Governance led by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, on Thursday. The meeting also invited representatives from relevant ministries, agencies, and local governments. In front of all meeting participants, Deputy Minister Ossy reminded them of the importance of spatial utilisation planning and control. “Going forward, control must be carried out from the planning, licensing, to sustainable supervision stages,” he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister AHY, as the meeting chair, stated that the main objective of the meeting was to strengthen airport ecosystem governance through regulatory reinforcement and cross-sector collaboration. He therefore expects active participation and collaboration from all relevant parties. With the meeting and joint efforts undertaken, he believes it can help improve the competitiveness and service quality of airports. “Let us jointly oversee the management of the airport ecosystem in a professional, modern, and inclusive manner to bring various benefits, especially for the economic, tourism, and creative industry sectors, and ultimately improve public welfare,” he said.
