ATM Skimming Trio Caught and Tied Up by Residents in South Tangerang
An attempted theft involving an ATM skimming method by three men in South Tangerang ended in failure. The trio were caught by residents, tied up at the roadside, and subsequently handed over to the police for further processing. A video of the incident shows residents chasing the perpetrators and kicking one of them to the ground before they were bound and later arrested by officers.
South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Boy Jumalolo stated that the three suspects were caught tampering with ATMs at the Buah Hati Hospital in Pamulang. The suspects had targeted three cash machines. Their roles were divided: one was responsible for damaging the machine, two others acted as blockers, and another monitored the situation outside while offering assistance to unsuspecting customers.
Police revealed that the suspects carried sharp weapons during the operation. Upon arrest, the perpetrators resisted officers, leading the police to take firm, measured action by shooting them. The suspects, identified by the initials AN, IRA, and MH, are now in custody. Authorities had been investigating the location following numerous reports from residents who had lost money after using the ATMs.
