Athari distributes six sacrificial cows in West Sumatra
Jakarta - Member of the People’s Representative Council’s Commission VII, Athari Gauthi Ardi, distributed six sacrificial cows across several regions in West Sumatra during the Eid al-Adha celebration of 1447 Hijriah.
Athari, in Jakarta on Wednesday, stated that Eid al-Adha is an opportunity to strengthen sincerity, compassion, and the spirit of sharing among the community.
“Through this sacrificial ritual, I hope to share happiness with the public and strengthen social bonds and togetherness in West Sumatra,” he said in a written statement.
He explained that the sacrificial animals were distributed to Solok Regency, Tanah Datar Regency, Sijunjung Regency, Padang City, Sawahlunto City, and Pesisir Selatan Regency.
Each cow weighed approximately 200 kilograms and was distributed through provincial and regency/city DPRD members to ensure targeted delivery.
According to Athari, the spirit of sacrifice is not only understood as a religious duty but also as a form of social concern and an effort to strengthen community solidarity.
“I hope the distributed sacrificial meat brings benefit and blessings to the recipients,” he added.
The People’s Representative from West Sumatra Electoral District I stated that the sacrifice initiative is part of his commitment to remain present and share with communities across West Sumatra.
One resident of Bungus Teluk Kabung Subdistrict, Padang City, Asmawati Tanjung (41), confirmed that the meat distribution was even and reached many recipients.
“We received around 210 bags of meat, each weighing about one kilogram,” she said.
She added that residents of Mushala Rawang RT 03/RW in Bungus Selatan Village also received sacrificial meat after not receiving it for three years during Eid al-Adha.
Residents expressed gratitude to Athari for his concern for the community.
