Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4) evening, with Danantara executives and several ministers to discuss national strategic programmes, ranging from downstreaming projects to waste-to-energy (WtE) utilisation.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday, explained that the meeting was held after the President received marathon reports from several state officials and also chaired a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace from Thursday afternoon until evening.

At the Merdeka Palace, the President received reports from Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, then the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and finally from the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak along with TNI AD senior officials.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who attended the President’s agenda at the Merdeka Palace and Wisma Danantara, explained that the limited meeting at Danantara was attended by, among others, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.

There were also the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Chief Technology Officer of Danantara as well as President Director of PT Pindad Sigit P. Santosa.

Teddy explained that in the limited meeting at Danantara, President Prabowo instructed the acceleration of the implementation of national strategic programmes that are government priorities.

“In the limited meeting, the President discussed the acceleration of the implementation of national strategic programmes, including in the fields of education, food security, industrial downstreaming, and waste-to-energy utilisation,” he said.

“This meeting is a strategic step in following up on the results of strengthening Indonesia’s cooperation with partner countries, while also encouraging cross-sectoral synergies to support economic growth and equitable national development in the future,” he stated.

Last week, President Prabowo visited Russia and France, meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on 13 April, then meeting French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on 14 April.

In the meeting with President Putin, the two state leaders agreed on long-term cooperation in the energy sector, including Russian investment in the construction of refineries and oil storage, as well as the purchase of Russian crude oil and LPG.
