At Retreat, Prabowo Calls Indonesian DPRD Chairmen Patriots

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto described the Chairmen of DPRDs across Indonesia as patriots oriented towards the people.

Prabowo made this statement during the retreat for Chairmen of DPRDs across Indonesia at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday (18/4/2026).

“I come here with one presumption that we are all here as patriots,” said Prabowo on Saturday, quoted from ANTARA.

“As children of the nation, today I want to speak from heart to heart, I want to speak plainly,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia’s strength is not only determined at the central level, but relies on solid, integrity-driven regional leadership oriented towards the people’s interests.

“We come from different backgrounds, different regions, different ethnic groups, different educations, different professions, and different political parties. However, as children of the nation, we remain one,” said Prabowo.

The event carried the theme ‘Strengthening the Role of Provincial/District/City DPRD Leaders to Support Asta Cita Towards Golden Indonesia 2045’, attended by 503 DPRD Chairmen.
