At least six killed in RP plane crash
MANILA (AFP): A small commercial plane with 17 people on board
including a Japanese man and a British passport holder crashed in
the northern Philippines early Tuesday, killing at least six
people, the army said.
Army rescuers found the wreckage of the Czech-made Let 410-
turboprop in the mountainous village of Didipio, near the town of
Kasibu as night fell, Brigadier-General Rodolfo Garcia said over
radio station DZRH.
"We have recovered six bodies," he said, adding he was not
ruling out finding survivors.
However, the general said the soldiers who reached the crash
site had told him the plane "burned down and apparently
exploded."
