At Cooperative Day Commemoration, Prabowo: I Will Fight for the People
President Prabowo Subianto attended the 79th Cooperative Day commemoration. On this occasion, he stated that he has been fighting for the development of cooperatives in Indonesia. “We have not yet succeeded, but we continue to fight for the people of Indonesia. And finally, I received the mandate from the Indonesian people, and I will carry out that mandate with all my might to fight for the greatest prosperity of the Indonesian people,” Prabowo explained at the Peak of the 79th Cooperative Day Commemoration in 2026, Jakarta, Sunday (12/7/2026). Prabowo also explained that for thirty years, Indonesia was dominated by liberal economic ideology. According to him, this contradicts the 1945 Constitution. He also stressed that such an economic system would not succeed and could not possibly bring prosperity to the Indonesian people. “I am perhaps one of those who from the beginning warned that neoliberal capitalism would not succeed and could not possibly bring prosperity to the masses,” said Prabowo. “And indeed, because I feel within my own family circle, cooperatives are something I consider my family,” he revealed. In this speech, he also confirmed that he is not the president of the Gerindra Party. He is the president of all Indonesian people, so he assured that he will fight for the people.
