President Prabowo Subianto delivered his address at the inaugural Board of Peace (BoP) meeting in Washington DC, United States, reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to contributing to peacekeeping efforts in Gaza.

Prabowo said Indonesia believes the Board of Peace can deliver results in bringing about peace in Gaza. He stressed that Indonesia’s objective in joining the Board of Peace is to deliver peace and solutions for the Palestinian people.

“There will be problems, but we will prevail, we will achieve our dream of peace in Palestine, lasting peace, and peace as a solution to the problems of Palestine and Gaza,” Prabowo said during his speech at the Board of Peace meeting on Thursday (19 February 2026).

Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia is also prepared to play a full role in maintaining peace in Gaza. He said the government is ready to send 8,000 troops or more to Gaza.

“The achievement of a ceasefire is real, we ordered this, and therefore we reaffirm our commitment to contribute a substantial number of troops — up to 8,000 or more if necessary. We are ready to contribute forces to actively participate in an international stabilisation force to realise this peace,” Prabowo explained.

In addition, Prabowo praised Trump’s initiative in establishing the Board of Peace. He expressed confidence that peace in Gaza could be achieved through the forum.

“From day one when we studied President Trump’s 20-point plan, Indonesia fully agreed and was fully committed to this plan, and that is why we joined the Board of Peace. We are committed to achieving success. We know there will be many obstacles, there will be many difficulties, but we are very optimistic that under President Trump’s leadership, this vision of true peace will be achieved,” Prabowo concluded.
