At 69 Years, Astra Reaffirms Long-Term Commitment to Boosting National Economy
Jakarta, VIVA – Astra International President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro stated that the company’s 69-year journey is a story of a process undertaken together with the nation. Over nearly seven decades, Astra has continued to grow whilst endeavouring to make tangible contributions through business diversification, good governance practices, and a sustained social commitment to the public.
He noted that at 69 years of age in 2026, Astra has expanded across seven business lines, supported by more than 300 subsidiaries and over 190,000 employees throughout Indonesia. Beyond mere figures, however, this journey has been underpinned by the dedication of Astra’s people, who consistently uphold the Catur Dharma values, maintain trust, and strive to deliver a positive impact for the nation.
“The celebration of Astra’s 69th anniversary marks a transitional phase towards the next important milestone — 70 years of Astra’s journey. This moment serves as a reminder for all of us of the significance of Astra’s 70-year journey, as well as our readiness to continue making long-term contributions,” said Djony in his address at Astra’s 69th anniversary celebration, as quoted from a company statement on Friday, 20 February 2026.
As part of the 69th anniversary celebrations, Astra also held the Astra Awards 2026 — an accolade presented to Astra Group companies demonstrating the best performance under the 3W concept (Winning Concept, Winning System, and Winning Team) throughout 2025. The Astra Awards reflect the company’s performance culture that promotes continuous improvement, collaboration, and the strengthening of human capital and systems within the Astra Group. Service milestone awards were also presented to employees who have reached 10, 20, 25, and 30 years of service.
Coinciding with the 69th anniversary celebrations, Astra once again received international recognition by being included in the TIME Best Companies Asia-Pacific 2026 list, published by TIME Magazine in partnership with Statista. The assessment was based on three key metrics: employee satisfaction, financial performance, and sustainability transparency (ESG). In the employee satisfaction survey component, Astra achieved the highest ranking among Indonesian companies on the list.
This recognition reflects Astra’s consistency in maintaining performance quality and its sustainability commitment, whilst serving as motivation to continue delivering meaningful contributions to Indonesia. Astra’s dedication to contributing to the nation for today and Indonesia’s future aligns with its aspiration of Prospering Together with the Nation and supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
