At 28th Anniversary, Prabowo Describes PAN as Loyal Fellow Fighters

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto described the National Mandate Party (PAN) as loyal fellow fighters while attending the commemoration of the party’s 28th anniversary.

In his speech in Jakarta on Friday, Prabowo stated that he found it difficult to speak as he was surrounded by comrades who have been part of his political journey.

“I actually find it difficult to speak because I am present among friends, loyal fellow fighters,” he said.

Prabowo made these remarks during the peak of PAN’s 28th anniversary celebrations at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC), Jakarta.

The Head of State also extended his birthday wishes to PAN, which has navigated 28 years on the national political stage. He expressed that he felt honoured to attend the commemoration alongside PAN cadres and leaders.

According to Prabowo, friendship has various classifications, including friends who accompany one in times of joy and those who remain during periods of difficulty.

“Thank you, friends from PAN. I believe that is the core of my speech. Brothers and sisters, it is true that we meet and become friends because of values, because of the values of struggle,” he said.

Prabow stated that the values of struggle require the courage to be maintained in various situations. He then linked this to the struggle of the nation’s founders when proclaiming Indonesia’s independence amidst uncertainty.

Prabowo also noted that PAN is older than the Gerindra Party. PAN is currently 28 years old, while Gerindra is 17 years old.

“Before Gerindra, I was in Golkar. But my friends have always been from PAN,” he remarked.

Prabowo added that almost all political parties in Indonesia fundamentally share the values of struggle to realise a just, prosperous, and welfare-oriented nation.

Earlier, the General Chairman of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan, affirmed at the same event that PAN will continue to stand with President Prabowo because they share the same political aspirations.

Zulkifli stated that PAN’s togetherness with Prabowo has endured through a long political journey and is not merely limited to a single presidential election.

“PAN will continue to be with the President. Because we share the same aspirations for our struggle,” said Zulkifli.
