The 25-year journey of Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) is marked not only by the institution’s growing age but also by the increasingly complete educational levels available to the public. One important step in that journey is the presence of a doctoral-level Informatics Study Programme, which completes UNM’s Informatics education from undergraduate, master’s, to doctoral levels.

UNM Rector Dwiza Riana expressed gratitude for this achievement. According to her, the existence of the doctoral Informatics programme is the result of a long process and serious preparation by the university until it finally gained the government’s trust to organise doctoral education.

“Once again, we are incredibly grateful that in this 25-year journey, Universitas Nusa Mandiri now has an Informatics programme from S1, S2, to S3,” Dwiza said in a press statement received on Thursday (13/8/2026).

She explained that establishing a doctoral programme is not a simple process. UNM had to go through various stages and procedures before obtaining permission to run the doctoral Informatics programme.

“Preparing for this doctoral programme was not easy. We went through an extraordinary, procedural process for establishing the doctoral programme, and we completed it well. Thus, we gained the government’s trust to organise the Doctoral Programme in Informatics at Universitas Nusa Mandiri,” Dwiza said.

The presence of this doctoral programme simultaneously strengthens the Informatics education ecosystem at UNM. With the availability of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, students and professionals have a space to continuously develop their competencies according to their respective needs and career goals.

More than just completing the educational levels, Dwiza emphasised that the UNM Doctoral Programme in Informatics has a vision of opening wider opportunities for lecturers and practitioners who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field of information technology. Specifically, this programme has competencies in the fields of Computer Vision and Biomedical Informatics.

“Our dream, especially UNM’s, is to provide the widest possible opportunity for lecturers and practitioners who are genuinely interested in understanding and delving deeper into Computer Vision and Biomedical Informatics, which are the competencies of the Doctoral Programme,” Dwiza said.

According to her, doctoral education can be an important part of a person’s career development journey. For lecturers, doctoral education can be a stage to strengthen academic capacity while supporting the journey towards the highest career level as a Professor.

“For those who wish to earn a doctoral degree, if they are lecturers, it will also support their careers, as the pinnacle of a lecturer’s career is becoming a Professor,” she said.

Meanwhile, for practitioners, doctoral education is expected to provide more than just an academic title. The educational process undertaken can enrich insights, improve competence, and build self-confidence to face various professional challenges.

Dwiza views doctoral education as a space to bring together depth of knowledge and practical experience. This knowledge and experience are expected to provide stronger provisions for professionals when carrying out their roles, whether as company leaders or as experts in their respective fields.

The existence of the Informatics Study Programme from undergraduate to doctoral levels is part of UNM’s commitment to presenting increasingly complete educational choices. For Dwiza, this completeness is not merely about expanding study programmes, but is part of a greater intention to provide the best education for the community.

“So if asked how UNM provides a complete study programme, this is purely in line with the foundation’s intention. We aspire to provide the best education,” she said.

Entering its 25th year, UNM wants to continue being a space for those who have dreams of developing through education. For Dwiza, anyone who comes to UNM with a good dream has the opportunity to turn that dream into something greater.

“We believe that anyone who enters UNM with a good dream, an extraordinary dream, will surely be able to turn it into an achievement for themselves and for the nation and state,” Dwiza said.

With the presence of the doctoral-level Informatics Study Programme, the 25-year journey of Universitas Nusa Mandiri enters a new chapter. From undergraduate classrooms to doctoral research, UNM as a Digital Business Campus is committed to building an educational ecosystem that not only delivers degrees but also paves the way for the birth of expertise, innovation, and achievements that can provide wider benefits for the nation and state.
