ASX, JSX to hold seminar
JAKARTA (JP): The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) and the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) will cosponsor a one-day seminar to be held at the JSX building Thursday.
The Australian Embassy said in a statement yesterday that the seminar would focus on providing practical advice to corporate managers on how to deal with the funding and human resources problems caused by the rupiah's sharp depreciation against the U.S. dollar and the imposition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reforms.
The seminar will feature leading figures from Australia and Indonesia including Australian risk advisor Martin Brown of Coppers & Lybrand in Sydney, Cliff Rees of Price Waterhouse in Jakarta, and Erry Hardjapamekas, senior executive of PT Timah.
Other speakers include Professor Bob Nicole of Melbourne University and Kevin Evans of ANZ Investment Bank in Jakarta.
The chairman of the country's Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam) I Putu Gede Ary Suta is expected to deliver a key note address at the seminar. (aly)
