PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) continues to pursue strategic steps to strengthen its investment portfolio in line with its commitment to developing sustainable energy. This energy infrastructure investment company is currently exploring the divestment of several businesses operating in the coal mining sector. Astrindo’s President Director, Ray Anthony Gerungan, revealed that the divestment process has now entered a more advanced stage. The company, he said, is discussing with several potential buyers and ensuring the entire process runs in accordance with applicable provisions, including principles of information transparency, risk management, and good corporate governance. This divestment step is part of a portfolio optimisation strategy as well as accelerating business transformation towards a more environmentally friendly energy sector. Astrindo believes these steps will provide long-term added value, both in terms of financial performance and business aspirations. Ray added that the company views environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects not only as business opportunities but also as real solutions in supporting the national energy transition. Going forward, Astrindo will expand its participation in the clean energy ecosystem, including exploring the development of gas-based energy infrastructure and various low-emission initiatives. In addition, the company remains open to investment opportunities in sustainable energy solutions, such as resource efficiency, waste management, and technologies that support carbon emission reduction. This strategy is expected to build a more balanced and long-term oriented energy portfolio.
