Astra's Car Sales Rise 4 Percent in January-April

PT Astra International Tbk recorded car sales of 143,365 units in January-April 2026. This figure represents a 4 percent increase from the same period in 2025, which stood at 137,788 units.

Head of Corporate Communications at Astra, Windy Riswantyo, stated that the growth was supported by sales in the commercial vehicle segment. “Particularly from our flagship model, the Daihatsu Gran Max, which supports consumer mobility and business activities,” she said in a written statement on Monday, 11 May 2026.

In addition, Windy noted that the Toyota Veloz Hybrid product also bolstered sales. The vehicle was launched at the end of last year and began delivery to consumers in February 2026.

According to Astra’s data, the Toyota and Lexus brands contributed the most to sales with 86,574 units, followed by Daihatsu (48,280 units), Isuzu (8,250 units), and UD Trucks (261 units). In the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) segment, total sales reached 7,470 units.

Meanwhile, total national vehicle sales, according to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), amounted to 289,787 units in January-April 2026. Astra’s vehicle sales dominated with 49.47 percent of the overall total.

From a business perspective, the net profit of PT Astra International Tbk’s automotive and mobility division was Rp 2.4 trillion in January-April 2026. In the same period last year, net profit was recorded at Rp 2.3 trillion.

President Director of Astra International, Rudy, stated that during the period, the automotive and mobility division recorded a fair value loss on equity investments of Rp 241 billion related to GoTo, compared to Rp 456 billion in the same period last year.

Excluding the fair value loss, the net profit for the division in the first quarter of 2026 was Rp 2.6 trillion. “This is 4 percent lower than the first quarter of 2025, which was Rp 2.7 trillion,” Rudy said in his written statement on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
