Astra Tol Cipali: 396,000 Vehicles Traversed Toll Road During Lunar New Year Holiday
Cirebon (ANTARA) — The operator of the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road (Astra Tol Cipali) in West Java recorded 396,000 vehicles traversing the toll road during the Lunar New Year 2577 Kongzili/2026 holiday period.
"The data was collected from 13 to 17 February 2026. Traffic volumes increased compared to normal conditions," said Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Management Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, in Cirebon on Wednesday.
He noted that peak traffic during the period occurred on 14 February 2026, with approximately 88,000 vehicles passing through in a single day — a 52 per cent increase compared to normal conditions.
According to him, the traffic surge on that day was dominated by vehicles heading towards Cirebon, numbering approximately 53,000.
Meanwhile, he said, the return flow trend on the Cipali toll road was observed on 17 February 2026, with a total of 77,000 vehicles passing through.
Ardam stated that of the total vehicles travelling during this period, approximately 47,000 were recorded heading towards Jakarta.
"On that day, traffic volume was recorded at 41 per cent higher than the normal daily average," he said.
He noted that the increase in vehicle volume reflected the high level of public mobility during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
The company conducted periodic traffic flow monitoring to ensure smooth journeys for road users.
In addition, Astra Tol Cipali provided real-time traffic condition information through its official Instagram account and other social media platforms.
"This information can be utilised by road users to plan their departure times and choose more effective travel routes," he said.
