Astra to maintain dividend payout ratio at 45-50 per cent
President Director of PT Astra International Tbk (Ticker: ASII), Rudy Chen, stated that the company will maintain or prioritise a dividend payout ratio in the range of 45-50 per cent for 2026.
“We know that dividends are very important, so we will maintain or prioritise the dividend payout ratio in the 45-50 per cent range,” said Rudy during the 2026 Public Expose Live press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.
For 2026, ASII distributed cash dividends totalling Rp15.66 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year. This amount is equivalent to 47.82 per cent of the 2025 net profit, which reached Rp32.76 trillion.
The dividend consisted of an interim dividend of Rp98 per share, totalling Rp3.96 trillion, which was paid on 31 October 2025. Subsequently, the company distributed a final dividend of Rp292 per share, totalling Rp15.7 trillion, paid on 25 May 2026. This dividend distribution decision was ratified through the 2026 ASII Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS).
In terms of performance, ASII recorded consolidated net revenue of Rp157.9 trillion in the first half of 2026, a 3 per cent decrease compared to the same period the previous year. ASII’s net profit, excluding non-recurring items, was recorded at Rp14.9 trillion, a 7 per cent year-on-year decline.
The decline in profit was primarily influenced by lower contributions from the Mining Solutions & Heavy Equipment business. This was caused by minimal contributions from the gold mining division, a decrease in heavy equipment sales, and a drop in volume within the mining services and coal mining businesses.
Meanwhile, ASII recorded non-recurring items of Rp2.4 trillion, primarily arising from fair value adjustments on equity investments and impairments. Taking these items into account, the group’s net profit was recorded at Rp12.5 trillion, a 19 per cent decrease compared to the same period the previous year.
As of 30 June 2026, ASII’s net asset value per share rose by 1 per cent to Rp5,763. The net debt position as of 30 June 2026, excluding the Group’s Financial Services subsidiaries, reached Rp6 trillion. This position reversed from a net cash position of Rp7.2 trillion as of 31 December 2025. This change was primarily influenced by the acquisition of PT Arafura Surya Alam, a gold mining company, share buybacks, and working capital movements.
