PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) has repositioned its business strategy to strengthen focus on three core areas: automotive, financial services, and heavy equipment and mining solutions, to drive long-term growth and value creation.

President Director Rudy stated that the move follows changing market dynamics and a strategic review ahead of Astra’s seven-decade milestone.

“The overall strategy aims to enhance business portfolio quality and capital efficiency, generating profit growth and added value for all stakeholders,” Rudy said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that the three core businesses have historically contributed the largest share to the company’s performance, accounting for around 90% of Astra’s profits.

Rudy said the automotive business will be bolstered through the development of its entire ecosystem, from new and used vehicle sales, spare parts, after-sales services, to customer networks across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, financial services will focus on optimising ecosystem potential through diverse products and services for various customer segments.

For heavy equipment and mining solutions, Astra will strengthen the mining supply chain ecosystem and develop new growth sources.

Beyond the three core businesses, Astra will pursue other business portfolio development strategies with emphasis on strategic alignment and long-term partnerships.

The company is reinforcing capital allocation discipline through maintenance capital expenditure, value-adding investments, consistent dividend payouts, and share buybacks at appropriate valuation levels.

According to company data, from 2015 to 2025, Astra’s net profit more than doubled from Rp15 trillion to Rp33 trillion, a 126% increase.

During the same period, dividends to shareholders rose 245% from Rp113 per share to Rp390 per share.

In human resources, Astra continues to strengthen employee development through sustainable work environments.

The company is supported by over 190,000 employees and hundreds of thousands more from Astra partners.

In social initiatives, Astra continues its Desa Sejahtera Astra programme covering health, education, entrepreneurship, and environmental sectors.

Currently, there are over 1,500 Desa Sejahtera Astra villages across 35 provinces benefiting more than 3 million people.
