Astra has commenced the roadshow for its 17th Satu Indonesia Awards 2026 in Banyuwangi, East Java, inviting the younger generation to become more aware of issues in their surroundings and transform them into tangible actions that provide sustainable benefits for the community. Carrying the theme ‘Connected in Action’, this programme represents Astra’s effort to encourage the emergence of more innovations and social movements from young people across various regions. East Java was selected as the first city for the roadshow due to its large youth population. According to the 2025 Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS) for East Java Province, the Gen Z and millennial population accounts for approximately 46 per cent of the total, or nearly 19.5 million people.

Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto stated that the theme was chosen to underscore the importance of collaboration in amplifying the impact of every social movement initiated by young people. ‘Through the theme Connected in Action, Astra wants to emphasise that every good initiative from the younger generation will have a broader impact when connected with the community, local government, and a sustainable support ecosystem. By strengthening the collaboration between the Satu Indonesia Awards and the Astra Prosperous Village programme, we hope more youth initiatives can grow, integrate, and provide wider benefits to society,’ Boy said in a statement on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

He affirmed that the activity is Astra’s annual appreciation programme for young people contributing in the fields of health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, and technology. In this year’s event, Astra is also reinforcing collaboration with the Desa Sejahtera Astra (Astra Prosperous Village) programme. Through this synergy, award recipients are expected to act as drivers and facilitators in village development, so that the resulting social impact can reach more people. The large youth population is considered a vital asset in generating solutions and innovations across the health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, and technology sectors. The event, attended by over 500 participants including students, university students, communities, and social activists, also served as a space for sharing inspiration among agents of change. The Banyuwangi Regency Government also provided support for the event.
