Astra raises stake in UT to 53%

JAKARTA: PT Astra International, Indonesia's leading automaker
and distributor, on Thursday said it had increased its
shareholding in heavy equipment unit PT United Tractors (UT) to
53 percent from 49 percent.

Astra said it bought an additional 52.4 million shares of UT
at Rp 1,064 each early this month. Astra now has 835.96 million
shares.

The company didn't give further details. -- DJ
