JAKARTA — PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AOP) has officially launched its free mudik programme under the “Mudik Gratis Bersama GS Astra KYB Akebono” initiative, transporting 1,000 travellers to various destinations in Central Java and East Java on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

Indra Nugraha, Executive In Charge of Marketing at PT AOP, stated that this free mudik programme represents the first such initiative organised by AOP and has received considerable interest from both business partners and the general public.

The business partners involved comprise AOP’s distribution network, including spare parts shops and workshops across various regions such as Jakarta, Bekasi, and Bogor.

Nugraha further explained that for this inaugural programme, Astra Otoparts is providing two main travel routes for the homecoming travellers. The first route includes Jakarta–Semarang–Solo–Yogyakarta, whilst the second encompasses Jakarta–Ngawi–Surabaya–Malang. Travellers can select their destination city according to the available route.

Looking ahead, given the considerable feedback from participants, the company is planning to add additional destination cities in next year’s programme.

“We chose Central and East Java this year based on a small survey we conducted, which showed that the majority of participants were heading to these regions, so this aligns with those survey results. Next year, we certainly plan to implement this programme again,” Nugraha said.

“Through collaboration with GS Astra, KYB, and Akebono, we wish to provide wider benefits to the community whilst strengthening relationships with our business partners and product users who have grown alongside Astra Otoparts,” said Martogi.
