Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Astra, through the Astra Foundation, has distributed sacrificial animals to communities across Indonesia for Eid al-Adha 1447 AH (2026 CE). This year’s qurban programme, themed ‘Qurban for the Nation’s Corners’, reflects Astra’s commitment to ensuring the benefits of the ritual are more evenly distributed across Indonesia.

The Astra Foundation and Amaliah Astra Foundation, along with Astra Group companies, distributed 3,197 sacrificial animals to 29 provinces. This was symbolically handed over by Astra representatives to Fredy Setiawan, Deputy Mayor of North Jakarta, at North Jakarta City Hall.

The initiative aims to spread Eid al-Adha joy to communities in need across the country.

“Through the spirit of ‘Qurban for the Nation’s Corners’, the Astra Foundation and Amaliah Astra Foundation strive to extend the benefits of Eid al-Adha more broadly, not only distributing sacrificial animals to those in need but also strengthening values of compassion, mutual assistance, and empowering local livestock farmers. We believe qurban is not just an annual ritual but a collective effort to spread joy, strengthen solidarity, and bring benefits to all corners of Indonesia,” said Boy Kelana Soebroto, Chairman of the Astra Foundation and Amaliah Astra Foundation, in a statement on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

The procurement of sacrificial animals was conducted in collaboration with local livestock farmers in various regions. This initiative is expected to generate sustainable economic impact by improving the welfare of small-scale farmers, strengthening local businesses, and promoting community economic independence.

In its implementation, Amaliah Astra Foundation aims to ensure responsible qurban management through distribution processes that consider environmental aspects, including promoting eco-friendly packaging to reduce single-use plastics.

This commitment is part of efforts to deliver social benefits aligned with environmental care. Additionally, all stages of the qurban process, from slaughter to handling and distribution, are conducted with caution to comply with Islamic Shariah, health standards, and applicable regulations.

The distribution of sacrificial animals and meat has been ongoing since 24 May 2026 across various Indonesian regions, enabling wider community benefits. Through the spirit of mutual cooperation and Astra’s ‘Prosperity with the Nation’ philosophy, Astra and Amaliah Astra Foundation hope the ‘Qurban for the Nation’s Corners’ programme not only brings Eid al-Adha joy but also strengthens compassion, unity, and widespread benefits for communities across the country.
