The event is part of Astra’s commitment to developing safe and comfortable housing and strengthening the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

During the ceremony, Astra symbolically handed over housing keys to beneficiaries and broke ground for new homes for Desa Sejahtera Astra residents in Garut.

Boy Kelana Soebroto stated: “The Astra Decent Housing programme is part of Astra’s commitment to improving community quality of life through safer, healthier, and more comfortable housing. Astra hopes each house built will become a space for dreams, hopes, and togetherness, delivering tangible benefits for the community today and for Indonesia’s future.”

In 2025, Astra will support the construction of Decent Housing for farmers in productive carbon forest areas within Desa Sejahtera Astra. To date, 250 units have been built, with 165 in Banyumas Regency and 85 in Garut Regency. The handover in Garut covers four villages: Telaga Wangi, Marga Mulya, Jayamekar, and Cikandang.

As part of strengthening the local economic ecosystem, Astra launched EcoBiz Desa Sejahtera Astra Garut, an integrated coffee processing hub connecting farmers, cooperatives, and buyers. The initiative involves approximately 3,000 farmers across over 1,500 hectares of land with a production capacity of hundreds of tonnes of green coffee beans. EcoBiz will serve as a learning centre, educational tourism site, and platform for cross-sector collaboration.
