Jakarta - PT Astra International Tbk. (ASII) recorded a profit attributable to owners of the parent entity of Rp12.53 trillion for the first half of 2026, a 19.22% decline from Rp15.5 trillion in the same period of 2025.

According to its financial report submitted through the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s (IDX) information disclosure system, ASII posted net revenue of Rp157.9 trillion in the first half, down 3.04% from Rp162.85 trillion in the first half of 2025.

Amid the revenue decline, cost of revenue was reduced to Rp125.46 trillion, a 2% decrease from Rp128.02 trillion in the same period last year. Unfortunately, the reduction in cost of revenue was not enough to offset the revenue weakness, causing gross profit to fall 6.84% to Rp32.45 trillion, compared to Rp34.83 trillion in the first half of 2025.

ASII also recorded increases in several expense items. Selling expenses rose 18.61% to Rp6.617 trillion from Rp5.579 trillion. General and administrative expenses also increased 13.2% to Rp11.418 trillion, compared to Rp10.087 trillion in the first half of 2025.

On the other hand, interest income fell 7.59% to Rp1.65 trillion from Rp1.79 trillion. Meanwhile, finance costs were reduced by 1.17% to Rp1.85 trillion, compared to Rp1.87 trillion in the same period last year.

ASII also booked a net foreign exchange loss of Rp95 billion, a reversal from a net foreign exchange gain of Rp194 billion in the first half of 2025. The net other expenses item also surged to Rp2.51 trillion, from a net other income position of Rp944 billion in the previous year.

Amid these pressures, contributions from joint ventures and associates increased significantly by 35.31% to Rp5.12 trillion, compared to Rp3.78 trillion in the first half of 2025.

Consequently, Astra’s profit before income tax fell sharply by 30.30% to Rp16.73 trillion, from Rp24 trillion in the first half of 2025. Income tax expense also decreased by 25.13% to Rp3.38 trillion, compared to Rp4.52 trillion in the same period the previous year.

After tax, profit for the period was recorded at Rp13.34 trillion, plunging 31.50% compared to the first-half 2025 profit of Rp19.48 trillion.

For other comprehensive income after tax, Astra posted a value of Rp3.81 trillion, surging 739.43% compared to Rp454 billion in the first half of 2025. The increase was mainly supported by a rise in foreign currency translation differences from financial statements in foreign currencies, which increased to Rp2.06 trillion from Rp298 billion, a cash flow hedge that reversed to a gain of Rp1.85 trillion from a loss of Rp46 billion, and an increase in the share of other comprehensive income from joint ventures and associates to Rp1.18 trillion compared to a loss of Rp119 billion in the previous year.

However, the company also recorded a decline in the fair value of other investments amounting to Rp837 billion, a reversal from a gain of Rp335 billion in the first half of 2025.

Overall, total comprehensive income for the period reached Rp17.15 trillion, down 13.95% compared to Rp19.93 trillion in the first half of 2025.

ASII’s total assets as of the first half of 2026 were recorded at Rp514.5 trillion, an increase compared to the end of 2025, which stood at Rp507.3 trillion.
