Astra International Appoints Rudy as President Director
The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST) of PT Astra International Tbk has appointed Rudy as President Director. He replaces Djony Bunarto Tjondro, who has held the position since 2020.
“I have been entrusted to continue and build upon what Mr Djony has achieved,” Rudy said during a press conference at Menara Astra, Jakarta, on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
Before becoming President Director, Rudy served as Vice President Director based on the RUPST on 8 May 2025. According to Astra International’s official website, Rudy also holds the position of President Commissioner at PT Sedaya Multi Investama and PT Astra Sedaya Finance.
He is also Vice President Commissioner at PT United Tractors Tbk and PT Toyota Astra Financial Services, and Commissioner at PT Astra Tol Nusantara, PT Astra Nusa Perdana, PT Toyota-Astra Motor, PT Menara Astra, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, and PT Asuransi Astra Buana.
Throughout his career, Rudy served as President Director of PT Asuransi Astra Buana (2017-2023), Director of PT Astra International Tbk (2024-2025), Finance Director of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (2013-2017).
Then Finance Director of PT Asuransi Astra Buana (2009-2013) and Chief Corporate Planning at PT Astra International Tbk (2000-2009). Before joining the Astra Group, Rudy worked as Investment Banking Manager at PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia (2000).
Rudy graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universitas Trisakti. He then obtained a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Melbourne in Australia, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires in France.
After being elected, Rudy stated that he wants to ensure Astra continues to grow and remains relevant to the public. From an asset perspective, the company needs to strengthen its business portfolio based on a strategic business review that it intends to deepen.
“If we’re talking about the future, simply put, we continue what is already good, and try to optimise what is not yet optimal,” he said.
