ASTRA Infra has projected that 6.8 million vehicles will traverse three major toll road sections during the Eid holiday period this year. These sections are the Tangerang-Merak, Cikopo-Palimanan, and Jombang-Mojokerto toll roads. The projection covers the period from 10 days before Eid (H-10) to 10 days after Eid (H+10).

According to Novianto Dwi Wibowo, Operational Director of ASTRA Infra Toll Road Cikopo-Palimanan and member of ASTRA Infra’s 2026 Eid Task Force, this figure represents an increase of 2.1 per cent compared to the Eid period last year. “We continue to see and anticipate there will be an increase compared to 2025,” he stated during a media briefing on the 2026 Eid holiday in Jakarta on Monday.

Breaking down the projections by section, the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road is expected to see 2.3 million vehicles, a rise of approximately 1.8 per cent compared to the previous year. The Jombang-Mojokerto toll road in East Java is projected to accommodate 1.1 million vehicles, an increase of about 1.4 per cent compared to 2025.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the Eid mass exodus and return journey, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) has implemented various strategies targeting the main routes expected to experience increased traffic volumes. The ministry has emphasised that preparedness of the national road network is a priority as the country approaches the Eid holiday period.

Currently, the national non-toll road network spanning 47,603.39 kilometres is in good condition, with 93.5 per cent achieving road stability standards. The toll road network ready to serve the Eid exodus spans 3,115.98 kilometres distributed across various regions of Indonesia.
