JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Astra Group, as Indonesia’s automotive company group, assesses that the national automotive market in 2026 remains in a phase of uncertainty, thus the company has yet to provide full performance projections for the current year.

Astra’s President Director Rudy stated that the company is still observing market developments before setting more detailed performance guidance.

“This year is more dynamic. We cannot yet provide full guidance,” Rudy said during Astra’s 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS), on Thursday (23/4).

According to him, Astra chooses to wait until the first semester of 2026 to gain more accurate visibility on the market direction before establishing more comprehensive performance projections.

“We’ll wait until the first semester for a more accurate prediction,” Rudy said.

Although it has not yet provided final performance guidance, Astra still conveyed an initial overview of the national automotive market.

For the car segment, sales are estimated to remain around 800,000 units, while motorcycles are projected to reach more than 6 million units.

On the other hand, Rudy added that market movements are also still influenced by seasonal factors, including long holidays and Eid al-Fitr, which impact demand patterns in the early year.

“There are Eid, holiday, and seasonality factors. Non-auto is also still influenced by price and volume,” he said.

Besides the automotive sector, non-automotive business performance is also said to be influenced by commodity price dynamics as well as volume fluctuations in several business lines.

With these various factors, Astra views flexibility as key to maintaining performance stability amid market conditions that are not fully certain.
