Astra, through its charitable foundation Nurani Astra, has handed over 156 units of medical equipment and 20 ambulances to Indonesia’s Ministry of Health as part of post-disaster response efforts for communities affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

This delivery represents the next phase of Astra’s humanitarian support for disaster-affected communities in Sumatra, aimed at strengthening healthcare services and providing direct benefits to residents across these three provinces.

The assistance was handed over symbolically by Astra Director Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim to Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and hospital representatives, accompanied by Interior Minister General (Ret) Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian and Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

“The government appreciates Astra’s support in strengthening healthcare services for communities in disaster-affected areas. Such collaboration is crucial to ensure that healthcare facilities in the region can continue to provide swift and adequate services to the public, particularly during post-disaster recovery,” said Budi in an official statement on Monday, 16 March 2026.

Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto stated that through Nurani Astra, the company seeks to contribute to communities undergoing post-disaster recovery.

“The distribution of ambulances and medical equipment is expected to strengthen healthcare services in affected areas, enabling people to access medical assistance more quickly and effectively,” said Boy.

The support has been realised through the distribution of 20 ambulances with transport specifications for primary health centres (Puskesmas), distributed across various affected regions. Sixteen ambulances were delivered to Puskesmas facilities in Aceh and one to a district hospital in Aceh, whilst single ambulances each were provided to Puskesmas in Central Tapanuli, the district hospital in Medan City, and Puskesmas in Padang Pariaman City.

Since December 2025, Astra has also conducted inspections and repairs on 126 ambulances distributed across affected areas, covering four locations in Aceh, 17 in North Sumatra, and ten in West Sumatra, ensuring healthcare service readiness for communities. Additionally, Astra through its subsidiary Astra Otoparts has distributed 156 units of medical equipment to support enhanced healthcare services in affected regions.

The assistance comprises 122 units of medical equipment delivered to eight district hospitals in Aceh and 34 units handed over to the Medan Medical Device and Facility Security Centre (BPAFK). Astra’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare across Indonesia’s regions aligns with the company’s vision of “Prospering Together as a Nation” and supports Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
