Astra Delivers Hundreds of Medical Devices and Dozens of Ambulances for Disaster Relief in Sumatra
Jakarta – Astra, through Nurani Astra, has delivered 156 units of medical equipment and 20 ambulances to the Indonesian Ministry of Health as part of post-disaster relief efforts for communities affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
This handover represents the continuation of Astra’s humanitarian support for disaster-affected communities in Sumatra, intended to strengthen healthcare services and provide direct benefits to residents across the three provinces.
“Through Nurani Astra, we endeavour to be present and contribute to helping communities facing post-disaster recovery. The distribution of ambulances and medical equipment is expected to strengthen healthcare services in affected areas, enabling communities to access medical assistance more quickly and effectively,” stated Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.
The support has been realised through the distribution of 20 ambulances equipped with transport specifications for primary health centres across affected regions. Sixteen ambulances were allocated to primary health centres in Aceh and one unit to a regional hospital in Aceh, with one ambulance each distributed to primary health centres in Central Tapanuli and Padang Pariaman, and one to the regional hospital in Medan.
Since December 2025, Astra has also conducted inspections and repairs on 126 ambulances across affected areas, including 4 locations in Aceh, 17 in North Sumatra, and 10 in West Sumatra, ensuring the readiness of healthcare services for communities.
Additionally, Astra through Astra Otoparts has distributed 156 units of medical equipment to support improved healthcare services in affected areas. The assistance comprises 122 units of medical equipment delivered to 8 regional hospitals in Aceh and 34 units handed over to the Medan Medical Equipment and Facility Safety Authority (BPAFK).
