Astra-Daewoo rubber project

JAKARTA (JP): PT Jambi Waras, a subsidiary of Astra Group and
South Korea's Daewoo are studying the possibility of developing a
rubber processing plant in Sarolangun Bangko (Sarko) regency, in
Jambi.

Sarko Regent Zainul Imron said in Jambi that the investors
plan to implement the project in cooperation with local
cooperatives but he did not give further details.

Imron was quoted by Antara as saying that the regency had
183,522 hectares of smallholder rubber plantations. (08)
