Astra Commits to Strengthening Women's Leadership Development

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Astra Director Gita Tiffani Boer has expressed the company’s commitment to strengthening women’s leadership development within the Astra Group, including by organising the Astra Women Network 2026.

“Astra is committed to continuously encouraging the creation of a more inclusive environment and opening up more opportunities for women to play roles and contribute optimally within the organisation,” Gita stated in a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Astra Women Network 2026 adopts the theme “Women Empowered: From Empowerment to Impact”.

This theme, she said, reflects Astra’s spirit that women’s empowerment does not stop at opening opportunities for growth, but extends through contributions and real impacts for the environment, the company, and the nation.

“Through the Astra Women Network, we hope that more and more Astra Women will develop and provide positive contributions to the environment, the company, and the nation,” Gita added.

According to Diana, the Astra Women Network provides a space for collaboration, learning, and capacity building for Indonesian women.

“This initiative shows that women’s empowerment is no longer just a social agenda, but has become an important part of the human resource development strategy and national sustainability,” stated Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti.

Up to 2025, the representation of female employees in the Astra Group in supervisory positions and above reaches 20.33 per cent.

In addition, there are 33 women serving as Directors in the Astra Group or equivalent to 17.37 per cent of the total board of directors.

In social activities, Astra Women have been involved in various initiatives such as collaborations for National Children’s Day with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Indonesia, mangrove planting actions in the Astra Prosperous Village on Pramuka Island, active involvement in the Astra Environment Workshop in the Astra Prosperous Village of Cidadap Padalarang, social activities with children who are cancer survivors, and teaching in schools supported by the Astra Foundation and the Astra Prosperous Village in East Sumba.

The Astra Women’s Community is expected to serve as a platform for collaboration, sharing inspiration, and a support system for women throughout the Astra Group’s ecosystem, while also delivering positive impacts for society.
