Astra Appoints New President Director, Former Finance Minister Becomes Independent Commissioner
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) has restructured its board of directors and board of commissioners at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on Thursday (23/4/2026). In these decisions, the company appointed a new president director and elevated former Finance Minister Muhamad Chatib Basri to the position of Independent Commissioner. Shareholders approved the appointment of Rudy as President Director, succeeding Djony Bunarto Tjondro. Previously, Rudy served as Vice President Director of Astra. Changes also occurred at the top of the board of commissioners, with Prijono Sugiarto appointed as President Commissioner. Meanwhile, several names remain as commissioners, including Anthony John Liddell Nightingale, Benjamin William Keswick, Stephen Patrick Gore, Lincoln Lin Feng Pan, and Lee Liang Whye. Apinont Suchewaboripont and Benjamin Herrenden Birks are no longer listed in the new structure. Several long-standing directors have stepped down, among them Djony Bunarto Tjondro, Henry Tanoto, and Hamdani Dzulkarnain Salim. Astra’s consolidated net profit as of 31 December 2025 reached Rp 32.76 trillion. From this amount, Rp 390 per share has been allocated as a cash dividend to investors.
