Astra Agro's CPO sales up 7.2%

JAKARTA: Indonesian plantation company PT Astra Agro Lestari
said Wednesday its crude palm oil sales in the first nine months
of the year rose 7.2 percent from the year-earlier period to
330,730 metric tons.

The company didn't provide a reason for the increase in sales.

On average, CPO prices during the nine months were 41 percent
higher at 2,992 rupiah a kilogram, compared with the same period
last year, Astra Agro said in a statement sent to the Jakarta
Stock Exchange.

The company said the average CPO price reached Rp 3,259/kg in
September, the highest price recorded during the last 45 months,
mainly due to higher prices in the export market.
