Astra Agro Lestari Outlines Sustainable Palm Oil Business Strategy
Best operational practices and commitment to sustainability are key to a sustainable palm oil business, not only commercially but also in efforts to prosper the nation.
This was conveyed by Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, Mochamad Husni, during the Visit Emiten 2026 event organised by the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veteran Jakarta.
The routine event was held to broaden students’ understanding of the investment and corporate world by visiting PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, a national palm oil plantation company with the stock code AALI.
President of KSPM 9.0, Anugerah Putra Prasetyo, stated that students need to understand that investment is not just about number movements, but also the business processes run by the company. Therefore, according to him, direct visits to issuers are very necessary for investors, including the student study group that upholds the motto “Be a smart investor to set a bright future”.
“As investors, we do not only look at number calculations, but must also understand how that business process occurs,” he said on Wednesday (13/5).
Anugerah hopes that the event can provide benefits to all participants while directly understanding the company’s fundamentals.
According to the Visit Emiten 2026 Project Officer, Dinda Suci Batalano, the event’s theme was chosen to provide participants with an understanding of the importance of viewing investment value from the aspects of business and company sustainability.
“Through this educational visit, we hope participants can gain real and in-depth learning experiences regarding the industrial world and capital markets,” she said.
She also expressed appreciation to PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk for opening a learning space for students.
“I want to convey my utmost thanks to PT Astra Agro Lestari for accepting and opening a learning space for us today,” she added.
Mochamad Husni welcomed the visit from the KSPM students of FEB UPN Veteran Jakarta. According to him, this event is also part of the company’s efforts to open educational spaces for the younger generation regarding corporations and capital markets.
He said the Visit Emiten event serves as a medium for students to directly understand how the company runs its business, faces industry challenges, and applies sustainability principles in its operations.
“We welcome the presence of friends from KSPM UPN Veteran Jakarta at PT Astra Agro Lestari. We hope through this visit, participants not only get to know the company from the side of numbers and financial reports, but also understand the business processes, governance, and the company’s commitment to sustainability and the environment,” he said.
Husni added that the company hopes the event can provide new insights for students regarding the working world and the national plantation industry.
“May this event become a beneficial learning experience and inspire students to continue developing their competencies and perspectives on the industrial world and investments,” he concluded.
Referring to KSPM’s motto regarding a “bright future”, Husni hopes that young investors like the FEB UPN Veteran students will truly become investors with a bright and prosperous future. Not only prosperous individually, but prosperous together, in line with the spirit and motto of Astra Agro, “Prosper Together with the Nation,” he said.
