Asthmatic Patient Carried Across Collapsed Road to Reach Health Centre
A resident of Buwun Mas village, Sekotong sub-district, West Lombok, had to be carried across a collapsed road when being taken to the health centre due to asthma, on Thursday (26/2/2026). The incident went viral on social media.
The road access in the village was known to be cut off due to a landslide that occurred two days earlier. The road has not yet been repaired.
Based on a video circulating and viewed by detikBali, the sick resident was dramatically evacuated by being carried by three people, two men and one woman supporting the head, while crossing the collapsed road. A number of other residents also accompanied them.
After passing the damaged road, a medical team on a motorbike was seen arriving to pick up the patient, carrying an oxygen tank.
The head of Buwun Mas village, Rochidi, confirmed the incident. He said that the patient had been taken to the health centre and had received treatment.
“Yes, that’s right, it was this morning. Apparently, he has asthma,” he said, Thursday (26/2/2026).
Rochidi said that the collapsed road had caused a stir among residents, who then rushed to bring the asthmatic patient to the pick-up point.
“Because the road was cut off, that’s why it caused a stir. Then it was also filmed and published,” he said.
According to Rochidi, the sick resident is still being treated at the health centre. He hopes that the road will be repaired soon, so that similar incidents do not happen again.
