Astamaops Joins Video Conference at Polda Metro to Monitor Takbiran in Jakarta

Polri and several related parties held a video conference tonight. The activity was conducted to monitor the situation during Takbiran night up to the homecoming traffic flow.

The Deputy Chief of Operations Assistant (Astamaops) to the National Police Chief, Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran, explained that the video conference was attended by Deputy National Police Chief Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto. In addition, there were other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), BMKG, and Basarnas. The video conference specifically discussed the situation during Takbiran night in the Jakarta area and surroundings.

“Just now, the Deputy National Police Chief along with the TNI Commander and related ministers conducted a video conference, carrying out checks and monitoring the Takbiran night situation as well as reports on the homecoming flow,” said Fadil Imran at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Friday (20/3/2026).

On this occasion, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho explained about Operation Ketupat 2026. He explained that Operation Ketupat is a humanitarian operation.

“Operation Ketupat is a humanitarian operation. It is not just traffic-related activities, not just escorting the homecoming and return flow, but Operation Ketupat is the state and Polri being present to guarantee a sense of security from both social and religious aspects,” said Inspector General Agus.

Agus stated that the peak of the homecoming flow occurred on Wednesday (18/3) with 270,000 motorists leaving Jakarta in one day. That number experienced a 4.26 percent increase compared to last year.

“We report that the homecoming flow has already taken place, and the peak of the homecoming flow was on the 18th, where the peak homecoming flow amounted to 270,000. Compared to last year, Operation Ketupat 2025, there was an increase of 4.26%,” he said.

Inspector General Agus also explained that the traffic engineering mechanism during the homecoming flow so far has gone well. The traffic engineering includes one-way up to contraflow and so on.

“Tonight, all task forces are concentrating on securing matters related to Eid al-Fitr, the security of Eid prayers, including activities tonight,” he said.
