Astaga!com launches WAP

JAKARTA (JP): News portal Astaga!com announced on Monday its
new wireless application protocol (WAP)-based facility,
Astaga!WAP, to allow customers access certain information on the
Internet through their mobile telephones.

The portal said the contents of its new facility, which
includes information on weather, flight schedules, cinema
programs and breaking news, is provided by WAP content provider
Gsmart.

Astaga!com is also cooperating with GSM operator PT
Excelcomindo Pratama to make Astaga's new site available via
Excelcomindo's own WAP service.

The portal claims to have more than 200,000 registered users
and over 550,000 page views daily. (cst)
