Association: People's Party proves government realises social care
The Indonesia Small Medium Enterprises Association (ISMEA) has assessed that the People’s Party for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, held in the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, on Monday (17/8), proves that social care remains a core foundation of the Indonesian nation.
“The People’s Party is a very effective open space for re-strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and proving that social care remains a core foundation of the Indonesian nation,” said ISMEA Chair Endang Rudiatin in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Through the “Sharing the Flavours of the Archipelago” activity, hundreds of thousands of portions of regional food and drinks were distributed free of charge to the public.
Endang also expressed hope that the event would not merely become a culinary festival, but also a stage for learning the nation’s noble values.
As a platform for education and the preservation of national culture, she said the free culinary distribution activity could serve as an educational tool for building a positive collective culture and reflect the high character of the nation’s culture, which must continue to be preserved and strengthened.
“Through this momentum, we can revive the culture of queuing, maintaining cleanliness, preserving order, and strengthening mutual cooperation — noble values that have experienced degradation over the past quarter century. The deterioration of these values often triggers a lack of tolerance, strengthens pessimistic solidarity, and makes the public easily pitted against one another,” she said.
“This is evident from the compliance and orderliness of the hundreds of MSMEs involved in this event, who adhered to all the rules and regulations set by the organising committee in the Monas area,” she said.
She also appreciated the Ministry of MSMEs for requiring MSMEs to reduce plastic waste.
