REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MADINAH – Hundreds of Hajj Pilgrimage Organising Officers (PPIH) from the Madinah Work Area (Daker) held a consolidation meeting in anticipation of Hajj operations in Mecca, specifically in preparation for the peak of the Hajj rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).
The PPIH Daker Madinah will be deployed as a task force in Mina during the upcoming Armuzna.
Coordinator of Zone I of Daker Madinah, Andik Setiawan, said that the officers from Daker Madinah are expected to check the accommodation (maktab) and the number of beds in Mina.
“We hope that the officers will count the number of beds available, so that no pilgrim is left without a bed while in Mina, including in Muzdalifah and Arafah, so that each pilgrim has one bed,” said Andik to reporters from the Hajj Media Centre (MCH) after the consolidation meeting on Thursday (14/5/2026) evening.
Andik said that the challenge in Mina will be that pilgrims often lose their way when leaving their respective accommodations, given that all the accommodations look the same. Therefore, the officers are expected to help show the way for these pilgrims.
He also appreciated the smooth progress of the Hajj operations for the first wave, both in terms of arrival in Madinah and transfer to Mecca. He also hopes that the operations for the second wave will run smoothly as well.
“The hope is to maintain the current situation. Both pilgrims and officers are urged to behave well and maintain good manners while in the holy land,” said Andik, who also serves as the Special Staff of the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia.
