Jakarta, KOMPAS.com — The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved additions and changes in status of several draft laws (RUUs) within the National Legislative Programme (Prolegnas) Priority 2026. Following the decision, the total number of RUUs in the Priority 2026 Prolegnas increases to 68. Meanwhile, the number of RUUs in the medium-term Prolegnas for 2025–2029 is set at 198.

“Can the report of the DPR’s Legislation Body (Baleg) on the evaluation of changes to the 2026 Priority RUU Prolegnas be approved?” Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Saan Mustopa asked at the plenary session at the DPR building on Wednesday (20 May 2026).

The question was met with unanimous approval by all members present in the plenary session. The approval was given after Baleg submitted the evaluation report on the changes to the 2026 Prolegnas Priority.

Head of Baleg DPR RI Bob Hasan explained that the evaluation was conducted together with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) and the DPD RI’s Legislation Drafting Committee through a working meeting (Raker) on 15 April 2026.

“Regarding the Housing and Settlement Area Omnibus Law, number 183, which initially was a government initiative, it has become a DPR initiative within the third change to the Prolegnas RUU for 2025-2029,” he said.

Bob Hasan also revealed that the DPR added four new bills as DPR-initiated in the 2026 Priority Prolegnas.

“Four RUU were included as DPR-initiatives in the second change to the 2026 Priority RUU Prolegnas, namely the RUU on Broadcasting, the RUU on the Curator Profession, the RUU on Amendments to Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, and the RUU on Housing and Settlement Omnibus Law,” Bob said.
