Asserting Strategic Role, This SOE Backs 512 Projects and Strengthens National MSMEs
PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Persero), or Askrindo, continues to strengthen its role as a strategic company supporting national development and the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This role is carried out through various general insurance and suretyship solutions to support the continuity of strategic projects and business activities, as well as through government programme insurance, particularly Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), which forms an important part of efforts to expand financing access for MSME players.
As of December 2025, Askrindo has provided support to 512 strategic and national security projects with a total project value of approximately Rp261.9 trillion. Of this figure, 16 projects are National Strategic Projects (PSN) with a total value of around Rp143.2 trillion, while the remaining 496 projects are in the national security sector with a value of approximately Rp118.7 trillion.
Askrindo Finance Director Leonardo Henry Gavaza said that Askrindo’s role is measured not only by business growth but also by the company’s ability to deliver broader benefits to the economy. “Askrindo wants to continue providing value for the Indonesian economy. On one hand, we support development through insurance and guarantee solutions for various strategic projects, and on the other hand, we are present closer to the public through government programme insurance, particularly KUR, to support MSMEs,” said Leonardo.
Askrindo’s support for National Strategic Projects includes asset insurance for KCIC or the Whoosh high-speed railway, the Ngawi-Kertosono-Kediri Toll Road, the South Japek Toll Road, Jasa Marga Bali Toll assets, the Serpong-Balaraja Toll Road Section 1A, Medan-Binjai Toll assets, housing development in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, the Pemali-Juana Water Source Network, hospital construction, the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road, the Jogja-Solo Toll Road, Tanjung Priok Port Tollways, the Cisumdawu Toll Road, and the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate.
Involvement in these strategic projects further strengthens Askrindo’s position as a company with the capacity to provide insurance and guarantee solutions for large-value project needs. Askrindo’s Commercial Line capacity reached Rp28.6 trillion, an increase of approximately 42% compared to the 2023 position of Rp20.1 trillion. The increase in facilities is in line with the growing trust of banking partners in Askrindo.
“The increase in Commercial Line capacity shows that Askrindo continues to strengthen its ability to provide support with increasingly larger values. However, we still balance this capacity increase with strengthened underwriting, risk management, and governance,” explained Leonardo.
Askrindo’s track record in providing support for various development and business activities has also been built over the long term. Throughout 2016–2025, Askrindo has provided Bank Guarantee Contract (KBG) guarantees worth Rp149.7 trillion, covering central and regional government projects through the state and regional budgets (APBN/APBD), state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and various other economic activities.
Amidst significant business opportunities, Askrindo continues to place the principles of prudence, strengthened underwriting, and risk management as important elements in every business decision. Leonardo explained that every risk to be accepted goes through an analysis and underwriting process considering the risk profile and the company’s ability to manage that risk.
“We do not only look at the size of the project value, but also ensure that every risk accepted is in accordance with the company’s capacity and risk appetite. Prudent underwriting principles and risk management form the foundation for maintaining the sustainability of Askrindo’s business,” he asserted.
Strengthening the underwriting process has been one of Askrindo’s focuses throughout 2025, along with various efforts to improve portfolio quality and strengthen the company’s business processes.
For Askrindo, contribution to the national economy is not only realised through support for large-scale strategic projects. Askrindo also has a strategic role in supporting MSMEs through government programme insurance, particularly KUR. This role is in line with Askrindo’s mission of MSME empowerment to support Indonesia’s economic growth. Through the KUR programme, Askrindo is present in the MSME financing ecosystem by providing credit insurance protection that supports business players’ access to bank financing. Thus, the benefits of Askrindo’s presence are felt not only in large-scale projects but also by business players in the MSME sector.
“For us, MSMEs are an important part of the national economy. Therefore, Askrindo’s presence is not only visible in support for strategic projects, but also closer to the public through government programme insurance, particularly KUR, which supports financing access for MSME players,” said Leonardo.
With this scope, Askrindo carries out a strategic role from national development to the community economic sector, by providing insurance and guarantee solutions while supporting MSME strengthening through the government’s KUR programme.
This strategic role is also supported by the company’s strong financial fundamentals. Based on the 2025 audited financial statements, as of December 2025 Askrindo recorded assets of Rp22.23 trillion, equity of Rp8.68 trillion, and after-tax profit (EAT) of Rp1.04 trillion.
These fundamentals serve as important capital for Askrindo to continue strengthening its business capacity while carrying out its role in supporting the national economy. Leonardo said that Askrindo will continue to strengthen the company’s capacity while maintaining the quality of risk management and governance. “We want Askrindo to continue being a company that provides value,” he said.
