Mohsen Rezaei, senior military advisor to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, has asserted that Tehran will continue the war until all its demands are fulfilled. In a television speech broadcast on Monday (23/3), Rezaei emphasised that compensation for the damage suffered by Iran is an absolute condition for ending the conflict. Rezaei stated that Iran will keep fighting until “all economic sanctions are lifted, and legally binding international guarantees are obtained to prevent US interference in Iran.” Amid the ongoing escalation, Rezaei reassured the public that the leadership transition in Iran is proceeding stably. He affirmed that the country’s military strength remains solid under the new leader’s command. “We see that our armed forces are carrying out operations and activities with full strength. Our leadership project, with the election of the new leader, is firmly under his management,” said Rezaei. Rezaei also claimed that this war has effectively ended more than a week ago. According to him, the United States had initially shown readiness to stop the attacks and seek a ceasefire. However, that step was hindered by political intervention from Israel. He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being the party continuously “pushing to continue” the war. Furthermore, Rezaei claimed that after the 15th day of the conflict, “the US clearly understood that there is no path to victory in this war.” In line with Rezaei, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also voiced a hardline stance via a post on social media platform X. Ghalibaf stated that the Iranian people now demand justice for the attacks they have received. Ghalibaf emphasised that Iranian citizens demand “complete and regret-inducing punishment” for the “aggressors” who have disturbed their sovereignty. The situation in the region remains tense as Iran’s assertions link the cessation of military activities to significant economic and political concessions from the West, particularly the United States.
