Assault on Merchants in Major Cities: BSN Boosts Mobile Banking Transaction Volume
PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) continues to expand the penetration of its sharia digital banking services, one of which is through the launch of the Ecosystem Assault Programme, a strategy to increase digital transaction volumes among business players and strengthen the company’s business ecosystem.
As of 31 August 2026, BSN recorded 238,897 active users on its Bale Syariah by BSN mobile banking platform. Total transactions through the platform reached 3.29 million, with a transaction volume surpassing Rp6.57 trillion. Meanwhile, on the merchant infrastructure side, BSN’s QRIS service has been adopted by 2,102 merchants, accumulating 2.07 million transactions with a volume exceeding Rp552.1 billion.
Bank BSN Chief Executive Officer Alex Sofjan Noor said these achievements align with the company’s strategy of integrating sharia banking solutions directly into the daily business ecosystems of its partners through the Ecosystem Assault Programme.
“Every Bank BSN business product innovation must be rooted in transactional convenience for business players. Guided by the spirit of #ThinkCustomer, every business decision always starts with the question: does this step truly make things easier for customers?” said Alex at the launch of the Ecosystem Assault Programme at Walking Drums Cafe in Jakarta, according to his statement on Monday, 7 September 2026.
The programme’s launch also served as a moment to celebrate National Customers’ Day, with Bank BSN management present to serve customers wholeheartedly. The series of activities marks the start of a roadshow in Jakarta that will gradually extend to other major cities such as Banda Aceh, Bandung and Surabaya.
The Jakarta event was held at Walking Drums Cafe, a business owned by Bank BSN customer Alifah Abdullah, who also runs the Root & Grow business unit at several strategic locations.
“In running day-to-day business operations, the need for speed, convenience and certainty in payment transactions is crucial, particularly through digital features such as QRIS and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines,” said Alex.
According to Alex, the partnership represents the direction of Bank BSN’s service, which is oriented towards customers’ real-world ecosystems. “This approach affirms a transformation in banking that no longer passively waits for customers to arrive at branch offices, but instead is actively and consistently present in supporting the daily activities and business growth of our partners,” he said.
