An alleged group assault following a protest over fireworks noise during a Maulid Nabi event in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, has been reported to the police again.

This time, local resident Amanda Andono filed a report with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. It was registered under number LP/B/7547/X/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA and dated 8 October 2026.

“I came to the police headquarters today to report what happened on 4 October, Sunday. The event itself had been taking place since Saturday, but the incident happened around midnight and continued until after one,” Amanda told reporters at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Thursday (8 October).

Amanda said the incident began when she went to the event because she was disturbed by the loud firecrackers and fireworks. She said the noise even woke her child.

“Even from inside my room, it wasn’t just once or twice; it went on for more than 10 minutes. In the end, I decided I had to stop it and go to the location. When I got there, they told me to go home,” she said.

At the venue, Amanda said, organisers asked her various questions and treated her unpleasantly.

“They asked me all sorts of things, detained me, spat in my face and told me to go home. Those who have seen the video may have seen the details. While I was being held, they called me a provocateur, even though they were the ones provoking things,” she said.

“After that, I was pushed and pulled, and pushed so that I nearly went into—no, I fell into a drain. Then they pulled me until my underwear tore. Their gestures made it seem as if they were about to hit or slap me,” she added.

Amanda said she had submitted several pieces of evidence with her report, including the results of a medical examination at the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati.

She said she had also attempted mediation with the other party, but it ended without agreement, prompting her to pursue legal action.

“I hope to follow the legal process from here,” she said.

Earlier, fireworks at a Maulid Nabi event in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, led to a disturbance. The event’s loud fireworks, which continued into the early hours of Saturday (3 October), disrupted residents’ sleep.

Amanda, a local woman who objected to the fireworks, said she was intimidated and threatened with violence by a group of people. She said the event ran from Saturday morning until midnight.

“They held a combined event for a large family reunion, attended by all their relatives and descendants, from the morning until midnight,” Amanda said, as quoted by detikcom on Monday (5 October).

On Monday, a woman identified by the initials LK also reported an alleged assault she said she suffered after protesting about the fireworks.

The report was filed with the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police and registered under number LP/B/4008/X/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA.

“Yesterday, 5 October, a woman with the initials LK came in to report what happened to her. The alleged offences were group assault and/or physical assault,” South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations chief AKP Joko Adi told reporters on Wednesday (7 October).
