Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
On the joyous occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh, I extend my warmest felicitations to the friends and well-wishers of Bangladesh in Indonesia. I would also like to convey my heartiest greetings to all Bangladeshis living in this country. On this day we pay homage to the martyrs and to our valiant freedom fighters who risked their lives to create a free and independent country.
While our Independence and National Day is a day of celebration, it is also a day of stocktaking. Over the past three decades, Bangladesh has made major strides in most of its development sectors, including health, education, food production, micro-credits, etc.
This was possible due to the joint efforts of the government and its people, through private and public initiatives, through homegrown non-governmental organizations and other socioeconomic movements. The Government of Bangladesh is committed to improving the quality of life of the people through the achievement of its socioeconomic development goals.
In achieving its foreign policy objectives, Bangladesh continues to strive for the enhancement of bilateral, regional and international cooperation with its friends. Bangladesh and Indonesia maintain excellent bilateral relations based on mutual respect, equality and a commonality of interests and aspirations.
We not only share a common religion but also share the rich cultural heritage of the East, as well as many common customs. We look forward to strengthening and furthering this relationship in the years ahead.
In a world faced with new challenges, there is an imperative need to create solidarity and renewed partnerships among countries that have similar views and common interests. Productive partnerships can become a force that can help countries like ours to march forward and achieve our objectives with determination, vigor and a sense of purpose.
In conclusion, I would like to wish the brotherly people of Indonesia peace, prosperity and progress, and I hope that Bangladesh and Indonesia can work together to the mutual benefit of our two peoples in the years ahead.
Bangladesh Zindabad.
