ASN's Child Withdraws from Gunungkidul Junior High School Affirmation Pathway After Discovery
The Education Office (Disdik) of Gunungkidul Regency has revealed the discovery of a civil servant’s (ASN) child who registered for the affirmation pathway in the Junior High School New Student Selection (SPMB). The child eventually withdrew from the affirmation pathway. Head of Gunungkidul Disdik, Nunuk Setyowati, explained that initially one of the state junior high schools in Wonosari conducted a review related to the SPMB. It turned out there was a registrant using the affirmation pathway whose decile did not match. For information, the affirmation pathway is a new student admission route specifically intended for students from economically disadvantaged families and persons with disabilities. It is designated for people listed in the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) in deciles 1-5. “So there was an SPMB registrant at the junior high school level whose parent is a civil servant but registered for the affirmation pathway. Even though affirmation is for deciles 1-5, and civil servants fall into deciles 6-10,” she told reporters on Thursday (25/6/2026). Therefore, the Disdik immediately conducted an investigation. However, not long after, the registrant ultimately chose to withdraw. “It turned out the person concerned had already withdrawn from the SPMB affirmation pathway. We have also checked again and the person’s name is no longer registered as an applicant,” she said. Reflecting on this finding, Nunuk stated that the Disdik has coordinated with the Gunungkidul Regency Social, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Office (Sosial P3A). This is because the Disdik does not have the authority to make data corrections. “We have conveyed this finding to the relevant regional apparatus organisation so that data improvements can be made,” she said.
