ASN's Anxious Stories Ahead of Komcad Training, Even Struggling to Sleep
Maulida (24), a civil servant from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, admitted to feeling nervous ahead of her departure to the training barracks. “I couldn’t sleep because I was so anxious. But when my father said ‘Keep your spirits up, Mbak’, something like that,” Maulida revealed during the send-off ceremony for prospective Komcad civil servants at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).
Maulida, who will have been with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for a year, stated her readiness to undergo the subsequent selection stages. She is scheduled to attend training at Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU in Halim Perdanakusuma.
“After this, there will be three more selections. There’s physical selection, then ideological and psychological mental selection. I was assigned to Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU in Halim,” she said.
Another story came from one of the participants, Suherlan Maulana (35). Suherlan is a civil servant from the Ministry of Social Affairs originating from Sukabumi Regency.
He registered voluntarily through his ministry. He hopes that the military discipline during the education period will have a positive impact on his performance when he returns to duty.
“Hopefully, it will make me a more disciplined individual in working within our respective ranks. Carrying out tasks more accurately in line with the spirit promoted in this Komcad,” said Suherlan.
He explained that during the selection process and upcoming education, his office tasks have been delegated to other team members. This is done so that participants can focus on the entire programme series from the Ministry of Defence.
“We were given official assignment letters by the ministry, so it’s already approved. Our work is temporarily not handled by us; we focus on this Komcad until the selection is complete and we enter the education,” he added.
On this day, the Ministry of Defence released 2,019 civil servants from 49 ministries/agencies to undergo advanced competency selection for the Komcad reserve component at six TNI-Ministry of Defence education institutions. The distribution is as follows:
