JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Head of the National Reserve Agency (Kabacadnas) of the Ministry of Defence (Kemhan), Lieutenant General Gabriel Lema, has revealed that the curriculum in the Komponen Cadangan (Komcad) programme for civil servants (ASN) from ministries is limited to basic knowledge only.

Gabriel explained that the material provided covers basic military introductions, including knowledge of weapons and limited shooting exercises.

“Yes, basic knowledge. So the curriculum is arranged in relation to military nuances, which is in the form of knowledge. Limited knowledge,” said Gabriel during the send-off of the ministry’s Komcad ASN at Monas on Monday (13/5/2026).

In addition, participants will also engage in various joint activities designed to resemble military operations.

This is aimed at building the ability to respond to commands quickly and in a coordinated manner within a team work system.

“Joint activities are structured in various types of activities that may lean towards the military, but this is to ensure how a received command can be responded to collaboratively within the system and community,” said Gabriel.

The material provided will also be adjusted to the needs and interests of each agency.

Previously reported, 2,019 ASN candidates for Komponen Cadangan passed the initial selection and proceeded to the training barracks process.

The distribution of the 2,019 participants who passed to the physical competency, psychology, and ideological mental selection stage is spread across six locations, namely Puskombelneg BPSDM Kemhan with 304 people, Rindam Jaya 302 people, Pusdikes Puskesat 505 people, Brigif 1 Pasmar 1 with 300 people, Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU 305 people, and Wingdik 500 Atang Sanjaya 303 people.
