'Asmoro' Returns to Haunt Marunda, Jack is Stolen from Moving Truck

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Theft targeting truck drivers, referred to as “asmoro”, has occurred again on Jalan Akses Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/2/2026). The incident went viral on social media, showing two men attempting to steal an item from a moving truck. “This is a theft; it happened because there was intent and opportunity. As we approach Eid, the trend of theft increases,” said Bobi when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (26/2/2026). According to Bobi, the video circulating on social media shows the perpetrators taking an item suspected to be a jack from the moving truck. The man wearing a black jacket stole an object suspected to be a jack. “From the video, it seems to be a jack or a similar tool,” he said. “The new price is quite high; I’m not sure about the price of a used one,” he added. Bobi revealed that one of the perpetrators of the viral theft has been arrested. The perpetrator, identified as AP (25), was arrested near Jalan Akses Marunda on Thursday (26/2/2026). “Thank God, we have secured the viral perpetrator,” he said. Meanwhile, the other perpetrator, identified as A, is still being pursued by the police. “Only one has been secured so far. The one in the black jacket,” Bobi explained.
