Askrindo partners with PELNI-PLN for free Mudik travel on Balikpapan-Surabaya route
Jakarta - PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) has partnered with PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) and PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to implement the 2026 Free Mudik BUMN programme on the Balikpapan-Surabaya route.
Askrindo’s Director of Compliance and Risk Management, R Mahelan Prabantarikso, explained that mudik participants will be transported using PELNI’s passenger vessel, KM Dorolonda, travelling from Semayang Port in Balikpapan to Surabaya.
“The presence of a vessel on the Balikpapan-Surabaya route also serves as an alternative maritime journey for mudik travellers, allowing the benefits of this route to be enjoyed by a broader community,” Mahelan said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.
According to Mahelan, the collaboration with PELNI enables the company to reach mudik travellers from outside Java by utilising maritime transport infrastructure.
The 2026 Free Mudik BUMN programme represents synergy between state-owned enterprises in providing transport services to the public during the Lebaran holiday period.
The partnership with PELNI is realised through the provision of maritime transport, whilst PLN’s contribution takes the form of support in implementing the free mudik programme for the community.
Mahelan stated that Askrindo’s participation in the Free Mudik BUMN programme forms part of the company’s commitment to providing direct benefits to the public, particularly in supporting mudik travel.
“Through this Free Mudik BUMN programme, Askrindo wishes to contribute to helping people who wish to return to their home villages with safer and more comfortable travel,” he said.
