Askrindo partners with Apindo to strengthen business ecosystem in North Kalimantan
PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Persero), known as Askrindo, has entered into a partnership with the Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) in North Kalimantan to strengthen the province’s business ecosystem. The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the utilisation of general insurance and suretyship, aimed at supporting business risk protection and boosting the competitiveness of Apindo members in the region. Askrindo’s Business Director Budhi Novianto stated that North Kalimantan, particularly Tarakan City, is currently experiencing positive economic growth with significant development potential in industrial downstreaming, trade, logistics, infrastructure, and the development of the International Industrial Park and Port (KIPI). “As the economic gateway of North Kalimantan, Tarakan City requires a robust business ecosystem supported by strong risk mitigation instruments so that business actors can safely expand their capacity, especially given that Tarakan is one of the areas with high trading activity,” Budhi said. According to data from the Tarakan City Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Tarakan’s economy grew by 5.02 per cent in 2025. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Tertiary Sector at 7.38 per cent, while from the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Household Final Consumption Expenditure component at 5.81 per cent. Budhi added that Askrindo is present to ensure that business actors and Apindo members in North Kalimantan have a strong foundation in facing business uncertainties. “North Kalimantan has extraordinary economic potential and is moving forward to become one of the new growth centres. Through general insurance and suretyship services, Askrindo is committed to being a trusted partner in risk mitigation, asset protection, and the provision of credible project guarantees. This synergy is a tangible manifestation of Askrindo’s commitment to supporting regional economic sustainability,” Budhi explained. The scope of the cooperation includes the provision of various leading protection products from Askrindo, including Property All Risks Insurance, Fire Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, and Marine Cargo Insurance. Additionally, to support construction and procurement project needs in North Kalimantan, Askrindo is facilitating guarantees through Surety Bond and Counter Bank Guarantee services. This initiative is expected to expand access to financial services, boost insurance literacy among entrepreneurs, and accelerate the smooth running of safe, resilient, and sustainable business activities in North Kalimantan.
